Facilities

We are proud of the history of Bradwell Junior School, which is housed in beautiful Victorian building, that was opened on 27 July 1895.  It still provides an excellent learning space, increasing in size in the 1990s, with the addition of an extension.

Classrooms

Class 1

Pupils in Class 1

Children in Years 3 and 4 have many of their lessons in Class 1, which includes all the learning facilities you would expect from a modern classroom including an interactive whiteboard that is used to enhance pupils' learning.

Class 2

Children in Years 5 and 6 have use of Class 2, a large multifunctional learning space.  It is fully equipped to deliver our broad curriculum.

Class 2 is also used as a large space for the whole school to gather for assemblies and to eat lunch together.

We have access to the local community Memorial Hall three afternoons a week for special assemblies, PE lessons and any other needs we have for a larger space. We also use the local community library based in the Memorial Hall on a regular basis. This is a wonderful facility and for more information about it please see the Bradwell War Memorial Hall website.

Our outside spaces are diverse with facilities to appeal to all our children. There is the school vegetable garden, where we cultivate a variety of vegetables and fruits, harvesting them during the summer and autumn.

Playgrounds

The bottom playground, just off the school drive, is always buzzing with sport activity at playtimes and is used throughout the year for PE lessons, weather permitting. The colourful sports surface and climbing wall bring it to life.

Behind the school is the top playground, with two distinct areas. There is a large flat surface with play equipment such as a pirate ship, stage, sandpits and climbing frame, and a wide range of playground equipment for imaginative play.

In addition, there is a large field, where the children can play among the nature of the willow den and meadow flowers. There is also an enclosed wildlife pond.
